We Urgently Need to Awaken From our Societal Slumber…

Just look around you. How much are we, as citizens, involved in our culture, our government, our communities?

It’s that old saying, “There are three kinds of people in the world: those who make things happen, those who watch things happen and those who wonder, “What’s happening?”  (Otherwise, they have no clue).

This book examines our lack of civic engagement and the impact of Apathy on our nation’s health.   When was the last time you saw a problem and said to yourself, “Somebody needs to do something about that”?  Di you take your own advice? Apathy is subtle. It permeates our society like a hidden virus in your computer.

We’ve evolved from small farming communities to centralized ‘big government’ where we have been trained to believe that ‘THEY’ should do something.  Who’s they? The government? Some local charitable agency? The guy next door?

Well, guess what?  It takes all of us.  If we leave change up to a handful of citizens (or non-citizens), then we will have empowered them to make decisions for all of us. This has to change or tyranny will reign, and you won’t like the results.
